These are replacement pilots for MRC/Rowa, Charmertz/Bemo and Con-Cor/Rivarossi. 2-8-8-2 Y6B & 2-8-8-0 EL5 steam locomotives.
They have all the detail of the original, including the rivet heads and checker plate floor on the steps. There is a socket in the front that will accept either a Micro-trains Z scale body mount coupler or a Micro-trains N scale body mount coupler.

A pair of pilots with a mounting hole for an N Scale MT body mount coupler.
The kits are printed in the Shapeways FUD material which will require cleaning upon delivery, please see my FAQs for more information.
To remove the pilot you will need to first remove the front set of wheels. With the locomotive upside down remove the plastic plug holding in the front wheel set.
The wheel set then simply lifts out.
The newly exposed screw holds the pilot in place.
Once removed the whole assembly will slide off.
The assembly then comes apart very easily into seven different components. I have found some of the very early versions have this assembly glued together which can make them reluctant to come apart at first.
